Lots of good autos, a so so 1/1 and a bad case of parallels. Nothing I needed. There was a case broken on the blowout boards yesterday and they didn’t pull anything I needed either. Case 18 will be here tomorrow. Yeah, I need the Mauer Black…..wrong black.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood the question. The serial number itself is written in silver. But the frame around the card, as seen in the picture, is olive-colored. The book value is $30.00, so I’m afraid I can’t take only $7. You’re already getting it for half price at 14.99; that’s a great deal!

Dear cjcards_2008,

Half price of what? Beckett assigns an arbitrary “price” to a card. You and I both know that book value means nothing. Dice-k /50 in other colors go for $4-$5. To my knowledge, these have never sold for anything close to $30 I offered you $7 because I need it for my set. Good luck.

A couple of notes. Thanks to JD for the Dorsey Metallic /50. I really appreciate it. Second, happy birthday to my old friend Daryl. He and I started hanging out in 88. I can’t believe what I just pulled. This is a Longoria auto 7/7 with the Pen he signed it with. This was a special box loader. The auto isn’t as bold as it should be but this is 100% authentic Longoria Autograph. I guess Upper Deck couldn’t embedd the pen into the card so they just taped it to it. I’m going to let this card go for $250. Free Shipping!

Slot Break or Team…I think Slot is best. There are 5 real hits per box. Basically you get 7 cards, 1 is a base card and 1 is a stupid premier stitching cards. So with 5 boxes with 5 cards that would be 25 hits making each slot $21.50, $20 additional. Here is the Checklist.

Every slot is guaranteed a card. The randomization will be done on Ustream live and the break will follow immediately. The base cards and premier stitching cards will be given out randomly. So 10 people will get a base card or premier stitchings card.

2008 Masterpieces Football Case Break Number 4

Yup, this is the 4th sealed case I have busted along with probably 2 others of loose boxes:

Redemption

Called the Upper Deck line and they are honering the redemption because it is less than a year old.

So people wonder what is wrong with a particular product. Well, out of 3 case hits, the two patches and the Red auto Derek Anderson I would get about $20 max. Let’s put it this way, to make these cases worth it, I need to be pulling a Montana, Marino, Barry Sanders, Namath et al, not a Derek Anderson red auto. yeah it is /10 but so are a lot of $2 cards.

Again, I enjoyed this case, but just like 07 and 08 baseball, they are only worth about $350-$400. For some reason prices have shot up for 08 Baseball and Football. No idea why, but I have noted that singles have declined an availability. BTW, I got 3 parallels I needed. Jake Long Silver, Mcnabb /50 and Jerome Simpson /50.

I picked up another /50 Metallic for my Masterpieces Football sets:

Funny enough about these cards, people view them as an “sp” of an sp even though there are 50 of each card in this particular set.

The same seller also had this card, won it for a lousy 1.51. See the back story here. I chased this damn card and now I have gotten 4 in the last 3 weeks.
